Music Festival - 27 & 28th May 2006

Plume of Feathers - Shrewton

'All The Kit' Allthekit  presided over the second Shrewton Music festival which was a smaller more intimate affair across 27th and 28th May 2006 and held at the Plume and Feathers Shrewton.

Coaster kicked the festival off  to a rocking start with an original set defying the terrible weather the day produced. The weather got worse for High Energy who kept the crowd happy with some family favourites. The weather just started to improve for the Hotblack Trio who played some relaxing cool jazz.  As the rain finally moved away Highway Blues gave the evening an injection of great guitar and amongst some blues greats others they performed an awesome  version of Hide Away. The first night was headlined by Agents Orange and what a great job they did. A great performance from this local band, with their own touch on the songs they covered they had the crowd up on their feet all night.

The Sunny Sunday afternoon got off to a heavy heavy start with Black Rush, those young rockers with a loud future ahead of them.  The Imposters then added a bit more soul to the evening and helped keep the sun shining.  Robb Blake gave his own unique one man and a guitar set confidently dishing out his original songs as well as a few originally sung covers.  Turtle Shed, the opening act of the first Shrewton Music Festival, gave an energetic performance which really tested the suspension of the lorry stage. The local band Blindhouse completed the local line-up before the place really filled up to see the headlining and cult like Wurzels.  The crowd were really up for this performance and the Wurzels didn't disappoint with a run through of all there classic hits.  young and old alike were dancing around like they'd been drinking the old zider all night.

We all look forward to next years festival...
